Abstract:
PURPOSE:To form a stable oil film by forming the lower end surface support of ecach bearing pad in a point or line supporting machanism, thereby allowing the pad to smoothly follow up to the inclination of a rotational shaft. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of bearing pads 3 are disposed at an equal interval through the prescribed gap around the shaft skirt 2 of a rotational shaft, and the top of the pivot head of an adjusting bolt 5 arranged at a bearing housing 4 is contacted with a contact plate 9 which is fixedly held at the center of the back surface of each pad 3. Further, an inserting hole 16 is opened at the central position on the lower end surface of the pad 3, a steel ball 15 sufficient to support the its own weight of the pad 3 is, for example, provided in the hole 16, and the pad 3 is supported to be capable of being adjustably centered. In this manner, since the pad is inclined to simulate the skirt even if the skirt 2 is inclined, a one side contacting phenomenon can be eliminated, thereby forming a preferable oil film between the skirt 2 and the pad 3.
