PURPOSE: To increase the strength of guide vanes by welding a guide vane shaft and vane ribs which are interposed between two pieces of vane side plates opposed and allowing vane ribs to participate in the transfer of torsional force.
CONSTITUTION: An intermediate rib 19 is welded 20 on a guide vane shaft 11 beforehand, and said guide vane shaft 11 is inserted from the slit part between two pieces of vane side plates 22, and the intermediate rib 19 and a vane rib 15 are welded 21. The vane rib 14 and the guide vane shaft 11 are welded and joined through an intermediate rib 18. Accordingly, the vane rib 14 participates in the transfer of hydraulic pressure which acts on the vane side plate 22 and of torsional force which acts on the guide vane shaft, and the strength of the guide vane is improved.
