Abstract:
To provide a method capable of easily and accurately detecting Haemophilus influenzae by primary isolation culture, and to provide a medium used for the method.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a method for screening Haemophilus influenza characterized by confirming the presence or absence of bacterial colony color and hemolysis after culturing by inoculating a specimen into a medium capable of growing Haemophilus influenza, containing at least the following (a), (b), (c) and (d): (A) horse blood; (b) β-NAD or a phosphate thereof; (c) an antibacterial agent; and (d) a coloring component, having the property of making the coloration of colonies of H. influenzae colonies and the coloration of colonies of Haemophilus parainfluenzae different colors.SELECTED DRAWING: None
