Abstract:
PURPOSE: To start heating upon fitting of a hair curler to a heater by providing a detecting means for detecting a current value flowing in a heating means and electric resistance or changing quantity thereof, and a control means for feeding an electric current at a predetermined interval into the heating means to judge whether or not a hair curler is fitted based on output of the detecting means.
CONSTITUTION: When a heater 2 is connected to a power source, a high-frequency pulse current flows in an induction coil 23 only for a short time at a predetermined interval. An electric current value at this time is detected by a detecting circuit in an electromagnetic induction heating circuit 24 so as to discriminate whether or not an hair curler 1 is fitted. At the time when the hair curler 1 is judged to have been fitted, an electric current is applied to the induction coil 23 for the time required for the electromagnetic induction heating circuit 24 to heat the hair curler 1 to a predetermined temperature. Accordingly, operability is enhanced.
