To obtain a hair-growing agent having good stability of preparation, free from problems of undesirable adverse effect, irritation, etc., to the scalp and capable of exhibiting excellent hair-growing effect.
One or more kinds of extracts selected from extracts of leaves of plants belonging to the genus Cirus having high effect promoting production of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) are included into a hair-growing agent. As a result, neovascularization of the peripheries of hair follicles is induced to promote transfer from resting stage of hair follicles to growth stage thereof and excellent hair-growing effect can be obtained by prolonging the growth stage of hair follicles. Further, the hair-growing effect can be enhanced by combinedly using and including one or more extracts selected from extracts of paeonia lactiflora Pall. and its relative plants, extracts of plants belonging to the genus Tilia and each extract of Equisetum arvense L., Mentha arvensis L. var. piperascens Malin, Mentha piperita L and Mentha viridis L each having effect promoting production of VEGF.
