PURPOSE: To ensure that an indicator for compact disk, etc., has self-standing ability and a prescribed sliding force when it is raised into a standing position by a method wherein the rib of a handle is made to move slidably in contact with the abutment part of a cabinet under a prescribed pressing force.

CONSTITUTION: The handle attaching device is provided with a handle 1 having a handle rotary shaft 2 and a rib 3 with a radius A having a predetermined length from the axis 2a of the handle rotary shaft and an elastic wall 8 having a abutment part 7 formed at distance B from the axis of a bearing 5 for retaining the handle rotary shaft 2. The distance B is made smaller than the radius A, whereby the abutment part 7 of the elastic wall 8 exerts a prescribed pressing force on the rib 3 of the handle 1 at least when the handle 1 is raised into an inclined position so as to permit the handle to remain in the inclined position.
