To provide a handrail which can be used for a common bathtub as it is and can be fixed to a side wall of the bathtub detachably but firmly.

The handrail includes a downward U-shaped clamping member 3 for clamping a side wall 2 of the bathtub 1 therein, a vertically telescopic prop member 5 vertically provided on the clamping member 3 and a grip member 6 fixed to the prop member 5. The tip end of the prop member 5 is pressed against and held by the ceiling 11 of a bathroom 10 to firmly fix the clamping member 3.
