Title:
HANDRAIL DRIVE DEVICE FOR ESCALATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6443488
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To shorten the chain length of a driving force transmission mechanism, by tiltedly providing a drive mechanism, constituted into nearly an inverse triangle, on the upper protruded curve part of a handrail to position a power transmission mechanism on the lower side apex of the inverse traiangle.

CONSTITUTION: A handrail drive mechanism 21, the whole of which is constituted into nearly an inverse traiangle, is tiltedly installed in a handrail 3 lower side protruded curve part so that the lower side apex of the substantially inverse triangle can near to a driving wheel 10 side. In the mechanism 21, plural driving rollers 21a having a coaxial sprocket 21c, and driven rollers 21b paired so as to nip a handrail 2, are arranged on the upper side of substantially the inverse triangle; and a sprocket 21d and a driving sprocket 21E provided coaxially are arranged in the lower side to drive the sprocket 21E. Such constitution nears the sprocket 21E and the driving wheel 10 of the mechanism 21, thereby shortening the length of a chain 24.
