To provide a handrail with an excellent safety without deteriorating its strength while its core material placed in a curved portion can be freely bent for conforming to the curved part of a wall at an installation site.
A metallic core material 1 is placed in a straight portion of the handrail while a resin core material 10 made of soft or semihard thermo-elastic synthetic resin, to which a sheathing material 6 of almost C-shaped cross-section can be attached just as is attached to the metallic core material 1, is placed in a curved portion of the handrail. The resin core material 10 is bent into a predetermined circular-curved shape and is connected and secured to the metallic core material 1. Furthermore, the metallic core material 1 and the resin core material 10 are covered with an elongate sheathing material 6 so as to form the handrail.
