To provide a handwriting input device capable of correction of a user's property regarding writing pressure, which is strong at the beginning and ending and is weak in between, to give the user better writing feeling.
A handwriting input device 1 includes: a writing pressure coordinate detection section 3 for detecting a writing pressure and a coordinate; and an information processing section 4 that includes an output coordinate candidate determination section 5 for determining whether a coordinate detected by the writing pressure coordinate detection section 3 should be a coordinate candidate to be outputted on the basis of writing pressure detected by the writing pressure coordinate detection section 3, and a coordinate output section 6 for outputting input information on the basis of the coordinate candidate that is determined to be a coordinate candidate to be outputted. The output coordinate candidate determination section 5 determines whether a coordinate should to be a coordinate candidate to be outputted on the basis of the writing pressure detected by the writing pressure coordinate detection section 3 and the writing pressure before or after the detection.
