Title:
HANDWRITTEN CHARACTER INPUT SYSTEM AND RECORDING MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002023938
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To shorten input operation time by removing limitation to the input format of handwritten characters at the time of inputting character information corresponding to a drawing and to minimize the number of input misses.

In the handwritten character input system, a character input menu sheet MS is arranged on an optional position of a tablet 12 at an optional angle, and when characters are handwritten from the surface of the menu sheet MS by a pen cursor PC, the handwritten character information is entered from a tracer system 1 to a computer system 2 through a tablet detection and control circuit 11 and character discrimination processing is carried out. Prior to the writing of the handwritten character, the arrangement position and angle of the sheet MS are calculated on the basis of point instruction information generated by the two-point instruction of instructed points (e.g. upper left and lower right points) on the sheet MS by the pen cursor PC. The handwritten character information is transferred to a coordinate system in which the character discrimination processing can be carried out on the basis of the calculated arrangement position and angle.
