PURPOSE: To eliminate a restriction for freezing a display picture without providing an interface for a hard copy in a display control device, by providing a memory for saving a picture data so that the preserved contents are transferred and copied.

CONSTITUTION: A memory is provided in a hard copy device, a video signal of a display picture to be copied is preserved temporarily in this memory, and thereafter, a hard copy is executed by transferring the contents of this memory to a copy device. For instance, color video signals R, G and B sent out of a display device 3 are converted to a digital signal by a signal converting part 42 of the heard copy device 4. Subsequently, when a copy start signal 100 is inputted to the memory 41 from a keyboard 5, picture data converted to a digital signal is preserved by one picture portion in this memory 41. Next, this picture data of one picture portion is transferred to the copy device 43 and copied, also transferred to a floppy disk device 44 by an instruction from an operating panel 45, and preserved by a diskette.
