Title:
HEAD OF GOLF CLUB
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3555774
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a golf club with which an improved flying distance and stability can be obtained by constructing radial ditches on the face of a golf club head to eliminate the hydroplaning phenomenon.
CONSTITUTION: A large number of face ditches 3 is radially formed on a face 2 of this iron club head 1. The face ditches 3 are formed as the center or the base part of the radial tending toward almost the central part of the sole 4 side, and the width and the depth of each ditch are formed narrower and deeper as approaching the center or the base part of the radial and wider and shollower to the end. By forming the face ditches like this, when a ball on turf or rough in the rain is hit water attaching on the face 2 or the ball is splashed away to the direction of each radial ditch by a collision between the face 2 and the ball and the hydroplaning phenomenon is eliminated.
