To provide a headlight control device which is capable of shading a range of a vehicle ahead including also a side face.SOLUTION: A headlight control device 50 comprises: an occupant direction range calculation part 51 which calculates an occupant direction range of a preceding vehicle 2 with respect to a left view point Ol and a right view point Or of each headlight 20, including a side face 16 of the preceding vehicle 2, on the basis of directions θl, θr of left and right taillights 21 and distances Ll, Lr to the left and right taillight beams 21 with respect to a reference view point Oc, and a vehicle type of the preceding vehicle 2; and a light distribution control unit 52 which irradiates an area excluding the occupant direction range, as an irradiation area, with the headlight 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
