To obtain a coating having a high hardness and excellent heat resistance by applying a non-tacky adhesive coating material which is prepd. by adding boron nitride powder to an inorg. coating material on the cooking surface of a heat cooking appliance such as a fly pan or hot plate and curing the non-tacky adhesive coating material by heating, thereby forming the ceramic coating.
The ceramic film 2 formed by curing the non-tacky adhesive coating material by adding the boron nitride powder 4 to the inorg. coating material 3 by heating is formed on the surface of the blank 1 of the heat cooking appliance. The blank 1 is most adequately aluminum. The inorg. coating material 3 is a water-based coating material consisting essentially of the organo oxide polymer of metal. The coating material is applied on a material to be coated and is heated, by which the ceramic film 2 of the metal oxide is formed on the surface of the material to be coated. The amt. of the boron nitride powder 4 to be added to the inorg. coating material 3 is adequately 1 to 10wt.% as solid content. The ceramic coating 2 may be colored to a desired color by adding a fluororesin and pigments at need to the non-tacky adhesive coating material.
