Title:
HEAT INSULATING REFRACTORY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2958285
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain heat insulating refractories having satisfactory heat insulating property, volume stability, spalling resistance, strength and lightness in weight fit for a tunnel as well as for an industrial furnace and for construction and causing no harmfulness at the time of a fire.
SOLUTION: The heat insulating refractories contains 11-15 pts.wt. (expressed in terms of CaO) alumina cement, 5-10 pts.wt. superfine powdery amorphous silica and 4-12 pts.wt. lightweight aggregate contg. ≤9 wt.%, in total, of Na2O and K2O in refractories contg. sepiolite, wollastonite and reinforcing fibers, preferably 10-30 pts.wt. sepiolite of 100 μm to 3 mm average fiber length, 2-30 pts.wt. wollastonite of 50-500 μm average fiber length and 0.5-2 pts.wt. reinforcing fibers of 0.5-10 mm average fiber length. Vinylon fibers are suitable for use as the reinforcing fibers.
