Title:
HEAT MODE RECORDING METHOD AND RECORDING MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5483430
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate defects such as poor SN ratio of the resultant signal itself and decreased life of reproducing elements by selectively removing heat mode layer and information recording layer with energy beams.

CONSTITUTION: An information recording layer 2 such as Al is provided to thicknesses of 0.1 to 1μ, preferably 0.2 to 0.4μ on a suitable substrate 1, and a heat mode layer 3 such as chalcogen or chalocogenide is provided thereon to thicknesses 0.03 to 0.5μ, preferably 0.05 to 0.3μ. Energy beams 6 according to information are selectively radiated to this recording medium and the layers 3, 2 are removed by the heat thereof, whereby the recording bits 7 of information are formed. The fly objects 4 of the layer 3 or the built-up parts 5 of the surrounding of the portions to be removed occur on the layer 3. Next, the layer 3, fly objects 4 and built-up parts 5 are all dissolved away by an alkaline solution.
