Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of heat radiation corresponding to change in the angle at which solar light is incident on a heat radiating plate mounted on a spacecraft in a space.
CONSTITUTION: Solar light 10 collected by a lens 1 is promptly detected by a detector 2 and a signal is fed from the detector 2 to the lid 4 of a heat radiating plate 3. The lid 4 is made by a variable transmission element and becomes opaque partially or entirely in response to the signal transmitted thereto. Therefore, the amounts of heat radiated from and flowing into the heat radiating plate 3 can efficiently be varied.
