Abstract:

PURPOSE: To develop a heat resistant Al allay excellent in toughness and fatigue strength by adding specified ratios of Si, Fe, Cu, Mg and other metallic elements to Al.

CONSTITUTION: By the Al alloy obtd. by incorporating Al with, by weight, 15 to 25% Si, 3.5 to 6.5% Fe, 0.4 to 1-2% Cu and 0.2 to 0.7% Mg and furthermore with total 0.6 to 2.0% of one or more kinds among Zr, V and Mo, a light alloy material for apparatus requiring heat resistance such as engine parts in which the average grain diameter of Si grains in the structure is regulated to 5μm or smaller as well as the average distance of the grains is regulated to 10μm or shorter and excellent in toughness and fatigue strength can be obtd.
