Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the hardness, toughness, wear resistance and thermal shock resistance by adding prescribed percentages of C, Si, Mn, Cr, W, Mo, Ti and Al to Co.

CONSTITUTION: This heat resistant Co alloy for a metallic mold for molding consists of, by weight, 0.5W3% C, 0.1W5% Si, 0.01W2% Mn, 10W37% Cr, 0.1W17% W, 0.1W10% Mo, 0.01W3.5% Ti, 0.01W4% Al and the balance Co. The alloy has high hardness and toughness as well as superior thermal shock resistance and wear resistance.
