Abstract:
To provide a hermetic compressor capable of welding a cover to a shell in a state that the compressor is erected and having high strength in a welded portion.
A projection 25 fitted to the approximately cylindrical shell 21 is formed at the end of the upper cover 22, an inclined end surface 22c of a groove angle A is formed at the end of the upper cover 22, and a groove is formed of the end surface 21b of the shell 21 and inclined end surface 22c. Since the end surface 21b of the shell 21 is approximately horizontal in a state that the hermetic compressor 1 is erected, it is possible to suppress weld metal liquefied during welding from flowing downward.
