In a hermetic terminal, by squeezing out the part of base metal through which a metal terminal passes, a seal path is secured only for a terminal portion, and simultaneously a contact area of the metal terminal with glass is secured so that terminal strength is held. In a direction of squeezing out the part of the metal base through which the metal terminal passes, by squeezing the same inward, the terminal portion is fastened so as to hold the terminal strength.
