Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the laser beam welding method by which a high-strength welded joint is obtainable.
CONSTITUTION: The Al2O3, film Oa remaining without melting so as to be continuous with a non-molten area (r) according to the growth of a molten pool P to an opposite contact region R is extruded into a recessed part 16 existing in the non-molten region (r) by the next growth of the molten pool P at the time of allowing the molten pool P formed by the laser beam B and the non-molten region (r) adjacent to the molten pool P to exist in the opposite contact region R of the front surface 4 and rear surface 15 coated with the Al2O3 films O of two Al members 11, 12. As a result, the remaining of the Al2O3, film Oa left without melting in the molten part is prevented and the notch effect by this Al2O3 film Oa is averted.
