Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency accelerator equipment for capturing efficiently an ion beam of strong and low energy in which space charge effect is a problem, by a ring-shaped accelerator, and for accelerating the beam stably.
SOLUTION: The high frequency accelerator equipment is constituted by an oscillator 1 generating a fundamental-wave signal and a higher-harmonic- wave signal, an amplitude regulator 2 and a phase regulator 3 which control the amplitude and the phase, a power amplifier 5 which amplifies the output signals, an acceleration cavity 6 of broad band operation which generates an acceleration voltage, a voltage monitor 7 which detects the acceleration voltage, a branching filter 8a which separates the output signals into each frequency components, a signal converter 14 generating a high-frequency signal for branch- filtering, an amplitude detector 9 and a phase detector 11 which detect the amplitude and phase of each frequency component, and a comparator 10 which outputs a control signal to the amplitude regulator 2 and the phase regulator 3 by comparing the output signals of the devices 9 and 11 with the set values.
