Title:
HIGH POLYMER MATERIAL HAVING NOBLE METAL GLOSS AND PRODUCTION THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62235337
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: A high polymer material, having a modified surface layer containing an amorphous carbon structure and existing oxygen or nitrogen in excess of a base material with noble metal gloss without using a noble metal.

CONSTITUTION: One or more of oxygen and nitrogen are subjected to ion implantation at an implantation amount within the range of 1×1014W1×1017/cm2 expressed in terms of monovalent ion at 10W100keV energy into the surface of a high polymer material, e.g. polyethylene, etc., as a transparent or white base material to afford the aimed high polymer material forming a surface layer, containing an amorphous carbon structure and existing oxygen or nitrogen in excess of the base material and having a noble metal gloss. The thickness of the surface layer is preferably 50W500nm.
