Abstract:

To prepare a specified breakdown position by providing breakage at a specified interval in a defined position between single laser diodes after a laser bar is fixed and dividing a laser diode of a laser bar into a proper laser diode group physically to prevent transfer of stress.

A p-side 4 of a laser bar 1 is divided into single laser diodes 6-1 to 6-4 by V-grooves 5-1 to 5-3. A first breakdown line 7-1 is extended between a first laser diode 6-1 and a second laser diode 6-2. A second breakage line 7-2 is also made to pass through between a third laser diode 6-3 and a fourth laser diode 6-4. Therefore, the first laser diode 6-1 of the laser bar 1 is practically a proper laser diode and the second laser diode 6-2 and the third laser diode 6-3 form a laser diode group. A specified breakdown position defined by a laser bar can be prepared in this way.
