Title:
HIGH-PRESSURE SUPPLY PUMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3867758
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure supply pump capable of reducing friction in all directions of a face orthogonal to the axial direction of a plunger during start-up of an engine or at low speed rotation.
SOLUTION: An abutting face 29 of a plunger 14 slides in contact with a plate face 24 of a tappet 13 and is movable in all directions of a face orthogonal to the axial direction thereof, so that displacement of the axis of the plunger 14 from the axis of the tappet 13 is absorbed. When an engine stops, thereby stopping rotation of a cam 100, oil is discharged from oil passages 361, 362, but the oil is kept within a circular projection 34. Accordingly, even when the oil is not pumped by the cam 100 during start-up of the engine, at low speed rotation or the like, friction between the abutting face 29 and the plate face 24 decreases during reciprocation of the tappet 13. Thus, the tappet 13 and a sleeve 21 as well as the plunger 14 and a cylinder are resistant from seizure.
