PURPOSE: To obtain the resistance welded tube having respectively prescribed tensile strength and bending characteristics by continuously subjecting a plate or sheet of a steel having a specific composition to water quenching, to annealing, and to tube making.
CONSTITUTION: A slab of a steel which has a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.05-0.30% C, 0.6-2.0% Mn, 0.03-0.70% Si, and the balance iron with inevitable impurities and further containing, if necessary, one or more kinds among ≤0.05% Nb, ≤1.2% Cr, ≤0.5% Mo, ≤0.1% V, ≤0.O5% Ti, and ≤0.005% B is prepared. A hot rolled steel plate prepared by hot-rolling the slab or a cold rolled steel sheet prepared by further cold-rolling the above hot rolled steel plate is soaked by means of continuous annealing equipment and is continuously water-quenched and annealed. Successively, tube making is done by means of butt seam welding, by which the above steel tube having ≤1.5mm/m bending and 120-170kg/mm2 tensile strength can be produced.
