Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent sticking coagulation of slurry to a slurry tank, polishing machine, etc., as well as reducing the decrease of a polishing speed very much, by performing polishing while removing the glass component in the slurry.

CONSTITUTION: A glass member is polished by a polishing machine 1 with the use of the slurry in a tank 3 consisting of the abrasive with a serium oxide as the main component and water. In this case, it is performed while removing the glass component in the slurry by a separation device 2. The effects of the highly efficient polishing of the glass, the reduction in the using quantity of abrasive, the reduction in the scratch generation, the labor saving in replacing the abrasive, etc., are thus caused, and after all the reduction in the polishing cost of the glass is enabled.
