Title:
HINGES WITH EMERGENCY COUNTERMEASURES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004263530
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a hinge with emergency countermeasures, which can release a closed state of the interior of a closed toilet room or the like and, by easily detaching a lower portion of an openable door mounted on a frame body by using a gravity hinge as a lower hinge without rough handling of the door from outside in an emergency.

The lower hinge serving as the hinge with emergency countermeasures is made up of a lower bearing member consisting of a vertical base plate fixed to a lower portion of the frame body of the openable door and a horizontal base plate protruding therefrom, a lower shaft erected on the horizontal base plate, a lower cam portion fitted onto the lower shaft and having an upward facing inclined cam surface, a door mounting member fixed to a lower portion of the door, and an upper cam portion having a downward facing inclined cam surface, wherein the inclined cam surfaces of the respective cam portions face each other, whereby the door rotatable about the lower shaft is made openable. The lower hinge is comprised of a slipout preventive fixture, so that the lower shaft is fixed to the horizontal base plate by engaging with the slipout preventive fixture in normal times. In an emergency, however, the lower shaft is slipped out of the horizontal base plate by canceling the engagement, to thereby detach the door lower portion from the frame body.
