PURPOSE: To fix a crystal oscillating reed to a holding member tightly by a small area by forming brazing alloy, by diffusing and fusing layer-shaped plating of Au or Ag on the surface of the holding member previously.

CONSTITUTION: As for the crystal vibrator with the crystal oscillating reed sealed in an airtight container via the holding member, Au-Sn alloy 10 of Au or Ag and Sn or In which is well diffused against Au or Ag is formed at holding member 9, and crystal oscillating reed 8 and holding member 9, made in contact with alloy layer 10, are heated. Then, Au or Ag and Sn or In on the surfaces of crystal oscillaing reed 8 and holding member 9 are diffused and fused to fix tightly crystal oscillating reed 8 onto holding member 9.
