Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain joints having excellent quality in narrow groove when weaving type arc welding is performed, by specifying the angle between the welding wire and the groove face and by raising up the welding current by stopping both ends of weaving.

CONSTITUTION: Welding wire 4 is fed to grooves 2 and 2' of aluminum alloy plate 1 through welding torch 3 and welding metal 10 is formed. Weaving device 5 is installed to the lower part of welding torch 3, and is moved by means of the traveling carriage. In this case, welding wire 4 is set so that angle α between the wire and the groove face at the lower plate may become 0W20°. Moreover, angle β between the swinging direction of welding torch 3 and the welding line looking from the direction which is vertical to the surface in which groove 2 is installed, is set to 20W60°. Angle γ between the direction parallel to the flat face of plate and peropendicular to the welding line and welding wire 4 is set to 80W100°. Then, both ends of weaving are stopped once, and the welding current at the end part is raised by 30W150 A than the welding current at parts other than the end part.
