Abstract:
To provide a horizontal polarization omnidirectional antenna the diameter of which can be made thin effectively, and to provide a base station.
A horizontal polarization omnidirectional antenna 1 includes a reflector 3 disposed perpendicularly to a horizontal plane, a patch antenna element 4 disposed while being separated from the reflector 3 in the horizontal direction, and a feedline 5 for feeding the patch antenna element 4. The patch antenna element 4 is formed to surround the reflector 3 alone horizontally within an angular range of 270° or more and less than 450°. Peripheral length L of the patch antenna element 4 in the horizontal direction is set to 1/4 or more and less than 3/4 of the wavelength λ of design center frequency F.
