To produce a horticultural material, utilizable as a substitute for a tree fern rod, capable of readily sticking a root of a plant such as a liane thereto, improved in water absorbing and water holding properties and designability and suitable for the liane by stacking plural empty cans, fixing the empty cans so as to integrate and bonding vegetable small pieces to the outer surfaces thereof.

This horticultural material is obtained by stacking plural empty cans 1, fixing the cans 1 so as to integrate, adjacently arranging the resultant plural columnar units 23, integrally fixing the columnar units 23 and bonding vegetable small pieces 3 to the outer surfaces thereof. Furthermore, positions of the respective connecting parts of the columnar units 23 are preferably shifted and fixed or small holes are bored in the sides of the empty cans 1 on the upper sides among the plural empty cans 1 and water placed in the interiors of the empty cans 1 is preferably discharged from the sides thereof.
