Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the service life of a refractory by uniformly hot drying it without local heating and obtaining the refractory having a uniform texture without a crack when the lining refractory of a tundish is hot dried by a burner.
CONSTITUTION: A bottomed cylindrical tube 16 having square holes 19 formed at the lower side face of it symmetrically with respect to the center line is provided in the tundish 11 and the burner flame 18 of the burner 17 is introduced into the cylindrical tube and the hot air in the cylindrical tube is blown off from the square holes 19 by the air ejected from a T-shaped ejector pipe 21 introduced into the cylindrical tube from the bottom part of the tube.
