Title:
HOUSING FOR LATHE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3293242
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To suppress the temperature rise of a head stock by the heating of a main spindle bearing with a simple structure having a high cooling efficiency.
CONSTITUTION: A head stock 5a to be set on a bed 4 has a form having a bottom board 8 and a bearing housing part 9 separated above from the bottom board 8. The bottom board 8 has a vertically extending air hole 10. A communicating hole 11 communicating with the air hole 10 of the bottom board 8 is provided on the upper surface of the bed 4. Thus, a relatively cold air in the outside of the machine is passed through the bed 4 and guided to the head stock 5a through the communicating hole 11 and the ventilation hole 10 of the bottom board 8 of the head stock 5a. Therefore, the head stock 5a is efficiently cooled.
