Abstract:
To provide a method of constructing a tunnel equipped with a manhole, without a fear of damaging a side wall of the tunnel in a shortened construction period.
According to the method an upper manhole section 2 is installed on an area of the ground under which the tunnel is to be constructed. Then after construction of the tunnel 3, earth between the constructed tunnel 3 and the upper manhole section 2 is removed, and the former and the latter are connected together by a lower manhole section 8. It is desirable that the earth between the area under which the tunnel is to be constructed and the upper manhole section 2 is replaced with sand or soil cement beforehand.
