A desk 1 has a top plate 2, and two legs 3 for supporting the top plate 2. These legs 3 are composed of humidity control boxes, and comprise a rectangular solid-shaped box body 4, openings 5 arranged on a pair of side surfaces of this box body 4, a plurality of plate-shaped humidity control materials 6 arranged in the box body 4, and nonwoven fabrics 7 arranged in the openings 5. The plate-shaped humidity control materials 6 are arranged in the direction for connecting the respective openings 5 and 5 with a plate surface set almost vertical. Air in the room contacts with the humidity control materials 6 by passing through the openings 5 so that the humidity of air in the room is controlled.
