Abstract:

To avoid reduction in accelerating force and the abrupt giving and receiving of battery energy, when a part of power generating equipment becomes faulty in hybrid railway rolling stock that operates with the power generating equipment and the battery, and to prolong the lifetime of the battery.

When only one train controller exists in a train and a part of power generating equipment becomes faulty, all the pieces of sound power generation equipment are started when the output power of the battery exceeds a first threshold, and they are operated at the maximum output point. At the same time, the output power of the battery is so controlled with the sum of the output power of the battery, and the output power of the power generating equipment already started becoming equal to required electrical energy, required for the running of the railway rolling stock and determined, based on a driving command from the driving cab.
