The hydraulic-mechanical transmission is equipped with an HST 10 including a hydraulic pump 11 and a hydraulic motor 12, a planetary gear mechanism 20, a low-speed side clutch 31a, and a high-speed side clutch 1b, and a controller 100 for performing control so that an actual transmission gear ratio Rt becomes a transmission gear ratio command value Ro. The controller 100 is equipped with a map 110 for showing a computational expression used to compute an inclination angle corresponding to a transmission gear ratio R. When a post-FB inclination angle command value has reached a given switching inclination angle c, the transition to a switching control mode is made which is intended for switching between a low-speed mode and a high-speed mode.
