Title:
HYDROCARBON DECOMPOSITION CATALYST
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2022160507
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To provide a hydrocarbon decomposition catalyst unlikely to reduce in catalyst characteristics and for manufacturing hydrogen at a high yield for a long time.SOLUTION: A hydrocarbon decomposition catalyst includes a nickel-containing layer exposed on a support layer comprising iron, copper, nickel, cast iron, steel, copper alloy or iron nickel alloy. Such a hydrocarbon decomposition catalyst is preferable that is obtained by heating the hydrocarbon decomposition catalyst used as a raw material to 800°C for 4-72 hours and bringing the catalyst into contact with methane gas for an average residence time of more than 14 minutes. An intermediate layer containing copper may be included between the support layer and the nickel containing layer, or the support layer may be copper or copper alloy.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
