Abstract:
To provide a hydrocarbon resin which can provide a hot melt adhesive composition having excellent holding power and tackiness with a good balance therebetween.SOLUTION: A hydrocarbon resin comprises an aliphatic monomer unit, or an aliphatic monomer unit and an aromatic monomer unit. The hydrocarbon resin has a weight average molecular weight (Mw) in the range of 500 to 6500, has a softening temperature of 50°C or higher and, in a GPC chart obtained by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) measurement, a peak height index, calculated from a peak top height (mV) and a peak area (mV×seconds) according to the following formula (1), is 0.5 or less: peak height index=(peak top height (mV)/peak area (mV)×100 (1).SELECTED DRAWING: None
