Abstract:
To provide a hydrogen occluding material having sufficient hydrogen occluding ability.
The hydrogen occluding material is obtained by impregnating carbon material with an organic radical compound. The organic radical compound of spin concentration 1020 [spin/g] or more is desirably used, and phenol type radical compounds or nitroxy radical compounds are more suitably used. As the carbon material, activated carbon, sintered body with advanced carbonization obtained by sintering polymer at a temperature of 600 to 1,000°C or graphite intercalation compound obtained by mixing graphite and alkali metal hydroxide and, thereafter, heating the mixture at a temperature of 300 to 800°C is desirably used.
