Title:
UNDERWATER ILLUMINATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0662702
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable a sea area to function as a natural water tank without damaging fishes and application to a diving unit, having high safety and capable of protecting the body from a shark, etc., by providing a means for emitting light at a specific wavelength including a prescribed wavelength disliked by the fishes.

CONSTITUTION: The underwater illuminator is equipped with a light source 1, a filter means 2, light scattering pipes 3 assembled into a boxlike shape as a light emitting means and light guide pipes 4 using light transmitting hoses for optically connecting the light source 1 to the filter means 2 and the filter means 2 to the light scattering pipes 3. The light source 1 is designed to directly utilize the natural light in the case of fine weather and supply artificial light in cloudy or rainy weather. The light collected in the light source 1 in the fine weather is delivered through the light guide pipes 4 to the filter means 2, which is designed to selectively take out only light at a prescribed wavelength most disliked by fishes according to the species of the cultured fishes. The light source 1 is attached onto a floating unit 11 and has a structure in which a ballast 12 or an anchor is cast into the water.
