Abstract:
The drive has a housing for each of the gyratory shafts, each housing being vertically adjustable. Each gyratory shaft is journaled within the corresponding housing. Each gyratory shaft is driven for rotation and accommodated within the corresponding housing. The drive includes a pinion secured to each gyratory shaft, a rack meshing with the pinion, and a device for causing the reciprocating motion of the rack for reciprocating each driven gyratory shaft and for holding workpieces for polishing surfaces and edges of workpieces together with their abrasive media within individual containers. The apparatus improves work finishing efficiency with high precision positioning.
