Abstract:

PURPOSE: To miniaturize a control circuit and to reduce power consumption by giving information of a orthogonal function to only a specific row electrode driving means out of electrodes simultaneously driven and divided with a row unit.

CONSTITUTION: For example, when a display device having 240 rows is driven with 8 rows and 16 divisions distributing each 4 divisions, a row function generating means outputs only data of an orthogonal function having values of 1 or -1 to a row electrode driving means 57 as row data 51, and a partial counter 127 counts the number of row data based on a row data control bus signal 52, outputs a partial clock 129 at the point of time when row data of prescribed numbers is finished to transfer. A transfer destination switching means 137 selects a voltage conversion means 138 transferring row data whenever a partial clock 129 is inputted, and transfers data. Also, only the voltage conversion means 138 to which data is transferred outputs corresponding data as row electrode signals 140-144, and the voltage conversion means 138 other than that outputs voltage corresponding to function data '0'.
