Abstract:
PURPOSE: To soundly repeat the engagement and disengagement of a latch arm in engagement with IC edge through its own resilience and simplify its structure in an IC carrier or socket formed of the parts other than its base part.
CONSTITUTION: A latch arm 6 in engagement with the corner of IC 3 is pivotally mounted on the corner of a base plate for IC carrier or socket. The latch arm 6 is provided at its rear end with a spring 6b extending to its set position and it is distorted to store its resilient force when the latch arm 6 is turned upward to release the engagement with the IC corner and the latch arm is returned by releasing the stored resilient force of the spring in the engaging direction and then held in engagement with the IC 3.
