Title:
IC FOR DRIVING THERMAL HEAD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05124242
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To change an electric source input in an IC for driving a conventional two electric sources consisting of a high voltage and a low voltage to one electric source of high voltage.

CONSTITUTION: An IC for driving a thermal head has a constitution wherein a pressure lowering circuit 5 which generates a low voltage from a high voltage is incorporated. The low voltage generated from the step-down circuit 5 is fed to an input circuit 2, a logic circuit 3 and an output circuit 4 of the low voltage system. A driver circuit 1 of a high voltage system is driven by using the high voltage fed from the outside. It is possible thereby to actuate the IC for driving the thermal head by using only one electric source. In comparison with one electric source of a low voltage, as the driver circuit 1 is actuated by the high voltage, the ability for driving of an electric current of the driver circuit 1 is high.
