Title:
IC SOCKET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5922350
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make the connection and disconnection of DIL type IC easily by a method wherein the termianls of an IC socket are brought into contact with the electrodes utilizing a socket band which is freely inserted into or removed from the periphery of the socket body.

CONSTITUTION: A DIL type IC is placed on the body of a socket so that the opposing terminals 2 may correspond to the electrodes 6 and a socket band 10 is fixed to the body 5 downward making the terminals 2 slide over the electrodes 6. The band 10 may be smoothly fixed to the periphery of the body 5 since a notch 11 provided on the frame face of the band 10 corresponding to the short side of the socket body 5 is fixed to a guide plate 9. Through these procedures, each terminal 2 may be brought into contact with the electrode 7 of the body 5 utilizing the band 10 to make the terminal 2 connect to a socket 3 while the terminal 2 may be disconnected safely and easily by means of removing the band 10 from the body 5.
