Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain excellent frame elimination without eliminating voice frames having no error by comparing a forward composite symbol sequence that is convolution-decoded with a reverse composite symbol sequence that is subject to time inversion convolution-decoding and time base inversion for each bit.
SOLUTION: A PBER calculation device 7 compares a bit of a symbol sequence Z with a bit of a symbol sequence T for each bit to calculate a PBER 40. In the case that any bit difference is not recognized between data (symbol sequence Z) that are forward-decoded and data (symbol sequence T) that are reverse-decoded a PBER threshold value setting section 8 sets a PBER threshold, value 30 to a high level. In the case that a difference of 1 bit or over is detected in this comparison, the PBER threshold value 30 is set to a low level. After the PBER threshold value 30 is properly set, a convolution re-decoder 6 applies re-coding to 1 bit of a class of the symbol sequence Z and obtains a re-coded symbol to estimate a PBER of the decoded symbol.
